Professor Tony Lasit
Tony Lasit began training in martial arts in 1948 or 1949. He began his training in Judo under Professor K. S. Chow. During
that time martial law had been declared in Hawaii and all forms of martial arts other than Judo were not allowed. Parishioners
of Karate had to meet in secret and would find out the training location by word of mouth.
He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1955 and was stationed in Austin Texas. There were three groups, two tactical air commands
and a heavy air bombardment crew, which Tony was with. Master Lasit was an air gunner on bombers and air ships during his
tour of duty in Vietnam and afterwards a preflight, in flight and post flight aircraft controller.
Professor Lasit is currently enjoying retired life in Hawaii.
